For a casual Valentine’s Day dinner, celebrate with a prix fixe menu featuring an amuse bouche, appetizer, salad, entrée, and dessert. $50 per couple plus tax and tip

Dashi

Make a reservation at Dashi (pictured) for a four-course omakase dinner. Vegetarian options are available. $85 per person with drink pairings plus tax and tip

Fairview Dining Room

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with four courses, chocolate-covered strawberries, and piano music at the Fairview Dining Room, the top-rated restaurant at The Washington Duke Inn. When you dine on the premises, you can also take advantage of a special Valentine’s Day overnight room rate. Four courses for $79 per person

Guglhupf

In addition to a special selection of sweets, Guglhupf will feature a four-course prix fixe menu on February 14. Four courses for $65 per person

Local 22

Toast your love with bubbly and feast on three courses at Local 22’s prix fixe Valentine’s Day dinner. $40 per person

Parizade

Enjoy an elegant evening at Parizade, which will feature Valentine’s Day specials all evening long on February 14. Prices vary

The Counting House

The Counting House at 21c Museum Hotel is hosting three nights of Valentine’s Day dinners! On February 10 and 11, choose from an à la carte menu or a special three-course menu. On February 14, spoil your loved one with a five-course prix fixe menu. Prices vary

Up the romance by spending the night at 21c, where you can opt for a Valentine’s Day package featuring a rose petal turndown, bottle of bubbly, and breakfast for two.

Vin Rouge

Treat your date to a three-course dinner at Vin Rouge. There will be oysters, lobster, foie gras, and caviar – plus plenty of champagne to choose from! Three courses for $55 per person

The Blue Note Grill

Take your sweetie to hear live blues music at The Blue Note Grill (pictured) on February 14. Clark Stern will jam with other blues musicians, so get ready to dance! No cover

Duke University Wind Symphony

Waltz your way through Valentine’s Day weekend at the Duke Wind Symphony’s Viennese Ball on February 11. There will be food, music, and plenty of dancing at this formal event, which features a live waltz orchestra and polka band. Proceeds benefit the Wind Symphony. $20 for two tickets

Masquerade Ball

For comedy, open mic, and dancing, attend the Masquerade Valentine’s Ball on February 11. Brave singles can even participate in a 2017 version of the dating show Love Connection. Childcare is available. Early bird tickets start at $20

Motorco

For an anti-Valentine’s Day party, head to Motorco to hear classics by DJ Flash on February 11.  $10 in advance

Ponysaurus Brewing

This local brewery hosts a last-minute market on Valentine’s Day from 3-7 p.m. Sip on a pint while shopping for gifts from East Durham Pie Company, Pine State Flowers, and The Makery. Carolina Soul will provide the tunes. Prices vary

The Scrap Exchange

Durham’s creative reuse arts center hosts Upcycled with Love: Valentine’s Day Card and Gift Making on February 11. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. you can craft cards, paper flowers, leather keychains, and jewelry at this family friendly event. $10 per person
