On October 12-14, Durham welcomes Black Wall Street Homecoming to the Bull City. This innovative event draws entrepreneurs and investors from around the county to Durham for a weekend of panels, discussions, and pitch competitions. With speakers ranging from Durhamite Phil Freelon, one of the architects behind the newly opened National Museum of African American History and Culture, to Arlan Hamilton, founder and managing partner at Backstage Capital.

The Duke Lemur Center is celebrating its 50th birthday over the next two months. Established in 1966, this Durham must-see is home to the world's largest and most diverse collection of lemurs outside of Madagascar. You can schedule a tour at the Center to view the world's most threatened group of mammals in-person.

The Lemur Center's birthday celebration concludes on September 21-23 with the 50th Anniversary Scientific Symposium and Gala at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club, an event drawing lemur experts from around the world.
