Rumble into the Bull City
The Bull City Rumble started as a small gathering in a parking lot and has grown into a multi-venue, two-day rally drawing vintage motorcycle enthusiasts from all over. Hosted by Ton Up NC on Labor Day weekend, Downtown Durham fills with the sights and sounds of vintage scooters, motorcycles, and enthusiasts from around the world. The weekend includes a juried bike display, burlesque dancers, rock and roll music, and food and drink. The Saturday show is free to the public.
The Fence, the world’s largest outdoor photography exhibit, has returned to the Bull City. Enjoy a variety of stunning photography, including selections from North Carolina photographers.
The Nasher Museum at Duke University will offer mural bike tours, a highlights tour, and both an opening and closing exhibit featuring "People Get Ready: Building a Contemporary Exhibition" and John Komfrah respectively.
Feel the Music
Prefer your art to be of the audio variety? Check out the Brightleaf Summer Concert Series. The performance on Friday, August 31 features 8 Track Minds, a 70s dance party band.
Grab a Bite and a Drink
If you’ve ever wanted a chance to sample a diverse selection of local food trucks, make some time to visit the Durham Central Park Farmer's Market. If you’re a big beer nerd, take a Fullsteam brewery tour and take time to enjoy a beverage and a board game.
Cheer on Your Favorite Team
Sporting events abound in Durham year round, but you're invited to check out the Duke University women's soccer team take on Marquette at Koskinen stadium, or watch the first football game of the season as the Duke football team plays Army West Point. You can take part in the action on your own timed park run with friends.
